About Us

Hawkes Mill Sports FC is the brain child of former Coventry City Professional Lloyd Mcgrath. We are a rapidly growing club with players start training and enjoying football from the early the age of 4 through to their adulthood. We have quality facillities, coaching and equipment for children of all abilities.

As an F.A Charter Standard club member we must abide by guidlines set out by the english F.A to provide the children with coaches who have a minimum of F.A level 1 coaching badge, F.A certified first aiders,CRB approved and attend safe guarding children course which must be refreshed on a regular basis.

Our football teams from under 7s to Youth are registered in the John Bryan Coventry Minor League and take part in games against teams from around Coventry and surrounding areas.

Lloyd Mcgrath runs every saturday a mini club for children aged from 2 -6 year olds where they can take part with other children of the same age (school years reception/year 1). The academy's aim is to teach children the basic skills of the game and the enjoyment of being part of a team.

Boys and girls ages 2 to 6 participating in football related activities with the emphasis on fun, structured play and learning the basics of the beautiful game. Through these activities the children learn whilst getting healthier, they also develop balance, coordination, team play and sharing skills thus increasing their overall confidence.

As some of the children attend the Saturday morning Hawkes Mill Sports FC young development sessions the skills are gradually honed to develop better movement, passing, dribbling, shooting and team work skills before potentially joining a newly or current formulated team. Parents who take an interest and who want to become more of a part of the club are often given the opportunity to volunteer to help support the children or formulated teams! From here they can move seamlessly into the main body of Hawkes Mill and get involved in Saturday morning coaching or maybe even becoming a Manager or Assistant to help with games against other clubs.
