VUWAFC

About Us

Victoria University of Wellington Association Football Club (VUWAFC) is Wellington’s only central city football club. VUWAFC was founded in 1943 and now has 19 teams (4 Women’s and 15 Men’s) and more than 300 members which also makes us one of the region’s largest senior clubs. We are run by an Executive Committee of volunteers, and aim to provide playing opportunities for seniors players of all ages, gender and abilities. Our Women’s First Team currently compete in the Women’s Central League and our Men’s First Team compete in the Capital 1 league. We have a range of teams in the grades below.

Clubrooms and Home Ground

VUWAFC’s clubrooms are at Kelburn Park, beneath Wellington’s iconic cable car and only a couple of minutes walk from Victoria University’s Kelburn Campus. The clubs main training facility and number one home ground is Boyd Wilson Turf which is at the Kelburn campus, however, many teams also play home matches at Kelburn Park, Nairnville Park (Khandallah) and Anderson Park (Botanical Gardens).

The club has a strong association with Victoria University. We play an important role in providing social and sporting opportunities for students, however, there is no requirement for club members to be current or past students.
